Program Review: Creation Moments (Part 2)
Hi everyone, if you reading this on the Sabbath, then I’d like to wish you a glorious Sabbath!
True to the Word is continuing with our science thread for our program reviews. There is so much wonderful media out there that shows us the beauty and function of God’s creation. It truly is a joy to watch them to learn about God’s works and worship Him, for His works and character. We are continuing with that gem I found - a three season series, called Creation Moments. It’s a huge batch of two min videos about all aspects of God’s creation. The first season focuses on animals. Please join me as I review the second half of the first season.
You only need about 30 minutes to fit in about half of a season of Creation Moments. Each episode is very carefully packed with fascinating information that glorifies our wonderful Creator. As I mentioned in the previous review, I learned something new in each episode.
One thing I forgot to mention is that each episode starts with a Bible verse that is fitting for the episode.
New Glue From Ivy
God’s creation has shown us how much we can learn from it and use its tools for everyday life. Again, I learned something new about the adhesive nature of ivy. A comment in this episode did leave me wondering why scientists want to come up with a way to stop ivy from sticking to every surface. Why try and fix something that is not broken? The Bible verse at the beginning of the episode was read under my witness testimony at my baptism - it’s a wonderful promise, that I have seen played out in my life - by God’s grace. The Bible verse is Romans 8:39 - it refers to how nothing can separate us from God. Amen!
Living Gears
This episode made me smile from ear to ear! It would stand to reason gears are not man-made. We have an amazing Designer!
Scientist Fired for Dinosaur Discovery
This episodes cuts to the core of the motivation behind evolution. I really like how the narrator states at the end, that Christians don’t have to fear any authentic discoveries, because they will point to the Creator of heaven and earth - God.
There was a powerful prayer at the end, that reminds me of Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
Evolution a Matter of Faith
This reminds me of one of the first films I reviewed back in October 2021, when True to the Word started. The film is called a Matter of Faith and looks at the world through the eyes of college students that have to decide about the origin of life. It is very clear that evolution is not scientific fact, it is based on theories and faith. The film and this episode of Creation Moments both do good jobs at pointing that out. But should our faith be built on man’s wisdom? I a reminded that God calls us to live by faith. Romans 1:17 - For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
God’s Special Gift to Salmon
I really like the connection here between the gift God has given salmon and the gift we have in eternal life, through Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!
Has Evolution Produced Anything of Practical Value?
There are many excellent points in this episode and it reminds me of John 17:17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
Don’t Have a Cow, man!
An episode that shows the short comings of evolution, as it is more important to stick to the theory and deny God exists than it is to look at the blatant truth.
Easter Island Heads - Not Just Another Pretty Face
I really like the conclusion the narrator gives here that ties us to the word of God. Amen!
Disposable Diapers for Robins
For this episode, all I have to say is - amazing! The prayer said just what I wanted to - the more I learn about our Creator, the more I am filled with praise!
Coat of Many Colours
I had no idea this coat of many colours existed in nature! The prayer at the end was beautiful and I agree and am eternally thankful to our Father and His Son Jesus Christ for the plan of salvation. Praise the Lord!
And a Little Child Shall Lead Him
A beautiful episode that reminds me of what Jesus said about our openness in order to receive the kingdom of God (Luke 18:17)
Antzilla!
A wonderful episode that connects to the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 7:12. It just shows that we can connect everything we see to the Word of God. I don’t know about you, but the prayer at the end is one I need to pray every single day, in this hurtful world.
Blood - Another Masterpiece of Design
This episode makes the important link between the life giving properties blood has and our plan of salvation. I also love how the Bible verse at the beginning shows how the God-head functions, as far as we know, as it is very complicated and way above our understanding. At least we get a glimpse of how the God-head functions. The verse referenced is 1 Peter 1:2.
The second half of season one is another batch of wonderful videos. I’ll mention that cherry on the top for the first season again: Each episode has a prayer of thanks at the end and I found myself lifting up each prayer of thanks to the Lord - and who knows, maybe each person that has seen this series has done the same thing! And who knows - maybe you will also lift up the prayers when you watch the series. What a blessing! To God be the glory. Amen!
I am looking forward to re-watching these episodes, then going on to the second season for more fascinating mini videos on God’s amazing kingdom!
I hope you’ll watch this series too!
Thank you for reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
