Program Review: Exploring Ephesus

If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a blessed Sabbath, filled with joy in the Lord.

This week’s review is for the travel program, Exploring Ephesus.

Description

Exploring Ephesus combines the fast-paced adventure of a travel show with truly rich biblical scholarship and relevant spiritual insights. Join hosts, Dr. Mark Wilson and Dr. Andrew Jackson, leading experts on biblical Turkey, as they journey to this important hub of the early church.

I really enjoyed this travel show and am looking forward to watching it again, as part of a Bible study.  It was packed with information about the Apostle Paul’s journeys and the Apostle John’s time on the Greek island of Patmos.  Dr. Andrew Jackson read scripture from Ephesians and Revelation.  There was also information regarding the seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

One scripture verse that came to my mind when this show was finished was, “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:17.

We were shown the ruins of the Roman Empire, paths that Paul and even Jesus would have walked  - all in the distant past, in this temporary home.  Kingdoms have come and gone, and many saints have fallen asleep in Christ.  Now we, who are alive in Christ today, are the lightbearers, waiting for the soon return of the Messiah, who has promised to make all things new, Revelation Chapter 21.

Exploring Ephesus was so interesting that I found myself wondering if it would be a possibility to take this tour in the distant future.  God willing.

Thank you for reading this review.  Until next time - peace be with you.
