Program Review: The Seventh Day
Hi everyone, if you are reading to this on the Sabbath, then I’d like to wish you a wonderful Sabbath rest, in the Lord.
Last week, I had a last minute change in plan in my program review. Instead of a nature program, I felt that the Lord put it on my heart to watch and review, Return to Genesis, presented by Mike Snavely of the ministry Mission Imperative. While doing the review for last week, I felt the Lord impressed me to emphasis the need to keep the Sabbath, as Mike Snavely had mentioned Sunday worship. This resulted in me noticing a program, The Seventh Day - don’t ask me how, I wouldn’t be able to explain it.
The Seventh Day is a five part documentary about how keeping the 4th commandment, the 7th day of rest, has been preserved, worldwide, throughout the history of mankind. From the time God set it aside and made it holy in Genesis 2:1-3, right after He finished the creation, to our present day.
As I mentioned in my previous review, I did some additional study and research after reading the Sabbath commandment back in 2016. However, this documentary provides extensive documentation on how God has preserved Sabbath keeping through His people, throughout the age of the world. It’s truly humbling to see how God has raised up people to ensure the Sabbath commandment was observed and passed down through time. It’s also amazing to see how this was not always done through the Bible, as I experienced it - there are some powerful testimonies from people around the world, who had no visits from missionaries or had no bibles, but yet they were told about God’s holy day of rest, by divine means. Praise the Lord!

As a Sabbath keeper, I am encouraged and humbled that the Lord opened my eyes to His commandment written in black and white in my Bible, but originally written on tablets of stone, with His own finger.
While watching the series, I thought about the many Christians that have been killed for their faith and prayed that the Lord give me the courage to stand by His word - no matter what. Then I got this Bible verse the very next day: Hebrews 13:6 says, So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not fear, what can man do to me?” Amen!
The Seventh Day documentary series simply backs up what is found in Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8-11, Isaiah 66:23, Matthew 5:17-18, Revelation 12:17, 14:7 - these are just a few examples, since the whole Bible signifies the importance of God’s eternal moral law, the Ten Commandments.
I watched the documentary via their YouTube channel. It’s split into eleven parts.

As the Sabbath draws near, I thank our Heavenly Father for His grace, mercy and love, that He has expressed by giving all of mankind the 7th day Sabbath rest. I am looking forward to the elevated sense of joy and peace I feel on the Sabbath.
Thank you for reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
