Review: Closed P3 (Return Review) 7th Street Theater Series
If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the Lord’s peace.
This week’s review is for part three of the 7th Street Theater episode, Closed, produced by Dave Christiano.
7th Street Theater is a drama series about five Christian actors who perform a weekly stage show for their community. There are 3 Seasons in the series and a total of 64 episodes.
Description
It looks as if the theater will close and the cast members start to prepare for the worst.
As things worsen, we are given good examples of how prayer should be our first resort, in any situation. I love how we can complain to God day and night and he never gets tired. We don’t understand His ways, but we can voice our frustration through it all. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 says, “16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Some members of the cast could stand confidently, due to their strong faith. Others were battling fear, even though they wanted to trust in the Lord. Others looked at what the Lord had done for them in the past and trusted in His path for them - even though they couldn’t understand the present circumstances.
I really liked how this episode showed how we can choose to react when circumstances change for what we perceive to be for the worst. Just like John and Charles Wesley’s challenging trip to the USA. I am reminded of Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8 Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
