Review: Closed (Return Review) 7th Street Theater
If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the confidence that the Lord protects those who trust in Him
This week’s review is for the 7th Street Theater episode called, Closed, produced by Dave Christiano.
7th Street Theater is a drama series about five Christian actors who perform a weekly stage show for their community. There are 3 Seasons in the series and a total of 64 episodes.
Description
A new theater opens up on 4th Avenue and affects ticket sales at the 7th Street Theater.
We’ve reviewed Closed before, but we’re taking another look, in light of our recent reviews about Christians like William Tyndale, Charles and John Wesley answering their call to ministry. I was reminded of this episode from 7th Street Theater, which deals with hardships in ministry. Closed is in four parts, so this review is for Part 1.
Part 1 has a scene involving one of the main characters for their plays, a cab driver, who is always trying to reach people for Jesus. God gives him the courage to ask thought-provoking questions to everyone who sits in his taxi cab. The main focus is how we should never compromise the word of God, no matter what is going on around us - in their case, drastic ticket sale reduction, which leaves the cast confused and concerned about the future of the Christian theater. Closed, is a reminder that things don’t go smoothly in ministry, because we are in a spiritual war, as stated in Ephesians 6:10-18.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
I watched, Closed, on the Christian Movies YouTube Channel. We’ll continue with Part 2 next Sabbath.
Thank you for listening/reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
