Review: Creation Moments (Season 2, Part 1)
Hi everyone, if you reading this on the Sabbath, then I’d like to wish you a glorious Sabbath!
True to the Word is continuing with our science thread for our program reviews. There is so much wonderful media out there that shows us the beauty and function of God’s creation. It truly is a joy to watch them to learn about God’s works and worship Him, for His works and character. We are continuing with that gem I found - a three season series called Creation Moments. It’s a huge batch of two min videos about all aspects of God’s creation. We have progressed onto the second season, which is about a variety of subjects, that gives the glory to our Heavenly Father. Please join me as I review the first half of the second season of Creation Moments.
Just like the first season, each episode of the second season is packed with fascinating information that glorifies our wonderful Creator. However, the second season does not have a Bible verse at the beginning and a prayer at the end - I wonder why?
Facts Aren’t Facts
This episode is about some polls generated from members of the public that had scientific questions stacked in favour of evolution. I like the advice given at the end of the episode to all Christians.
Where Did Learning Come From?
Can evolution explain how learning works? Apparently not. So, as the narrator asked, how can they say learning evolved if they don’t know how? This episode gives examples of how God has instilled the ability to learn into his creation. Praise the Lord!
When Is An Answer Not An Answer?
This episode is about how life does not come from non-life. But even though apparently some evolutionists have admitted this, answers are still looked elsewhere - away from God.
The Modern Creationist Movement
This episode is so inspirational. It reminds me of how God has entrusted His people to do their small part in the plan of salvation. I for one, am honoured to do the tasks the Lord has called me to do.
I like how the person interviewed, Mark Cadwallader, who is the Board Chairman of Creation Moments, encourages Christians to stand firm in the Word and not buckle under the ridicule of the world. I like how we are reminded that God’s Word will reign and how we are encourage to study the Word of God - that is our authority, our faith builder and our wisdom.
This episode is just under seven minutes long and has a lot more to say about why we as Christians need to stand by what God has revealed in His Word about creation and not compromise by trying to combine the Genesis account and evolution or change the literal days given in Genesis 1 to thousands of years (what is known as the gap theory).
This episode references Hosea 4:6 and 2 Peter 1:5 that speak of knowledge of God, faith and virtue. I really like Mark Cadwallader’s end message - based on Bible scripture.
The Double Life of the Hummingbird
This episode has amazing facts about the hummingbird. I have come across some very interesting facts about the hummingbird before and learned new things, thanks to this episode of Creation Moments. These facts show how amazing God is! He has thought of everything for all of the things He has created.
The Big Universe
I totally agree with what the narrator says - the night sky is fascinating. It truly is a huge banner for our Creator. There is no way you can look up at the night sky and not wonder, and if you really have an open heart, give worship and praise to the God of the universe - the God of Israel. This reminds me of Psalm 19, which speaks of the heavens declaring the glory of God.
The Venus Flytrap
Another creation with fascinating features! I like how the narrator emphasizes at the end that the works of the Lord are a wonder to behold.
Seeing Colors
We revisit the amazing function of the eye and are given a quote from Charles Darwin’s book, The Origin of Species, which recognizes the complexity of the human eye being beyond the theory of evolution.
The Bible’s Age for the Earth
I like how the narrator points us to scripture to find out the answer to this question. I have mentioned before that I have done this exercise, through Bible study. The earth is young and Christ is returning soon.
Science and Miracles
How can we tell if something is a miracle?
This episode references Genesis 1:11 and 1:14. A wonderful episode that challenges the listener to humble themselves and realize that man cannot explain everything. I only have to look at myself to start the domino effect of thinking about miracles.
Purpose to Glorify God
This is a wonderful episode about the variety we have in creation, for God’s glory. We don’t know why God created everything, and maybe we won’t know this side of heaven and I’m ok with that. What is wonderful is to see all the variety and this episode gives great examples of that.
Reptilian Fuzzy Feet
This episode was really interesting and I especially like the comparison of the gecko and the temptation of evil we face each day.
God’s Optic Fibers
God has already created everything we have use for, in nature. If we haven’t found it yet, it’s out there, to be discovered. This episode emphasizes - God creates, while man discovers.
God’s Agriculture and the Stink Bug
This sums up very nicely how God has created everything we need and tweaked things for a sinful world. As the narrator put it - our Creator’s solutions to problems are always better than ours!
I really like how each episode points us back to the Word of God, our only authority. It reminds me of my daily Bible verse from today and the theory of evolution.
19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” 20 and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” 1 Corinthians 3:19-20.
Thank you for reading this review and stay tuned for the next one.
Until next time - peace be with you.
