Review: Drive Thru History Adventures (Corinthians)
If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath with increased faith that Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of your faith.
Times flies and while it has been flying I purchased the Corinthians module of Drive Thru History Adventures by Dave Stotts, which covers both letters of the Corinthians. This review is for 1 Corinthians. I will come back to the second part at a later date.
One thing I will say is that this module encourages you to dig deeper into the letters Paul wrote, looking at several subjects that Paul covers in his letters. Even though I had already written notes for the letters to the church in Corinth, I made additional notes.
As typical of the Bible, I learned new things that I had surely read before, but have forgotten, overlooked, etc. So I did a double take when Paul fighting wild beasts was mentioned!
What I really like about this series is that it gives you the history that coincides with the Bible. Do we need the history in order to understand the Bible better? No, but it’s great supplementary material. Not everyone who has access to the Bible will also have access to world history, right? So I treat this series as a supplement and not a necessity, in order to study the Bible - and it’s a great supplement.
Some of the subjects covered were
Marriage and Sex
The Lord’s Supper
Spiritual Gifts
Biblical love
The Resurrection
The modules are not cheap, but I think they are well worth the money and time. I have also purchased the modules on the Gospel of Mark and am looking forward to watching that.
I am also looking forward to bringing you a review on the rest of the module which covers 2nd Corinthians.
Thank you for reading to this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
