Review: Drive Thru History Adventures (The Gospel of Mark)

If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the knowledge of the power of God’s grace.

Like the module for Corinthians, Drive Thru History of the Gospel of Mark, had the same wonderful birdseye view and added depth.

Like the other module, I appreciated the additional historical facts and views of the locations Jesus and His ministry was connected to.

I can see how the reflection worksheets would be very beneficial in homeschooling or small group sessions. Having said that, I found it beneficial to fill out the worksheets for individual study.

It was powerful to list the reasons Jesus has been given authority.  I have plans to put these reasons on a wall in my ministry office.

In closing, I’d like to share some Bible verses that came to mind after this module.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5:  The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

The beginning of the Gospel of Mark

Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God,

Philippians 2:5-11

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

Who, being in very nature God,    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;

7 rather, he made himself nothing    by taking the very nature of a servant,    being made in human likeness.

8 And being found in appearance as a man,    he humbled himself    by becoming obedient to death—    even death on a cross!

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place    and gave him the name that is above every name,

10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,    in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,    to the glory of God the Father.

Romans 3:21-24

But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Drive Thru History Adventures does a wonderful job of showing us the message the Holy Spirit wanted to convey, through the Gospel of Mark and the Bible as a whole.

God willing, I will buy more of these modules in the future.  Until then, I wouldn’t mind repeating the modules I have purchased the next time I read the letters to the Corinthians and the Gospel of Mark, for my private Bible study.

Thank you for reading this review.  Until next time - peace be with you.
