Review: Meeting God in Quiet Places
If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with meaningful prayer.
This week’s review is for the program, Meeting God in Quiet Places.
I have split this program into two parts, so I will be uploading part two in time for the next Sabbath. This is a program with segments focused on differed reflections for a spiritual life. It is presented by F. Lagard Smith, an author I have not heard of before. The first segment focuses on God as our faithful shepherd, friend, protector, source of love, power and strength. All of this is summed up while the presenter tells us about a staff he has grown to use on a daily basis, which he uses as a comparison to his reliance on God. Psalm 23 and Romans 8 are referenced as assurances of God’s character. I like how the presenter proclaimed his need to depend on God every moment of the day - as should we all.
The second segment is about our contribution in our lifetime, for the sake of the gospel. What legacy do we want to leave behind? The presenter uses verses from Ecclesiates to reflect on the meaning of life, the significant of death and wisdom.
The next segment is titled, “Dreamhouse”. This focuses on contentment, wealth, need versus greed and the ideal - greed for godliness.
I really liked the peaceful reflection in this program and the focus on pursuing God, in every aspect of our lives. I look forward to reviewing the rest of the segments.
Thank you for reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
