Review: Meeting God in Quiet Places (Part 2)

If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with God’s peace.

This week’s review is for part two of the program,  Meeting God in Quiet Places.

This is a program with segments focused on differed reflections for a spiritual life.  It is presented by F. Lagard Smith, an author I have not heard of before.  The first segment focuses on our faith in the life of Jesus Christ.  I like how the presenter reflects on what the presence of Jesus in us means through the struggles a sinful world impresses on us.

The next segment was called, Gates. Here, the presenter reflects on how Jesus is the only gate to heaven, to the Heavenly Father.  The presenter references 1 Corinthians 2:9: But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—

The presenter rightly says, through Jesus, we get a glimpse of heaven.

Towards the end he does mention that people who have passed away are waiting just inside the gate pf heaven.  I have included Bible verses in previous podcasts that tell us what happens after we die.  I have included them in the resource section of this review.

The next section is called, Sheep, and contains a poem written by William Blake, called Little Lamb, which references creation and salvation through Jesus Christ.  After reading this poem, the presenter goes on to wonderful reflection about pure love, as Christ loves us.

The final section is called, Snowfall, that contains thoughtful reflection about sin, grace and God’s faithfulness.

I really enjoyed the deep and God fearing reflections, Meeting God in Quiet Places, has to offer.  The presenter refers to scripture throughout and uses nature to reflect on who we are and where we are heading as followers of Jesus Christ.

This is the kind of program you can listen to  - it’s peaceful, reflective and focused on giving God the glory.

I watched, Meeting God in Quiet Places on Vision Videos website.

Thank you for reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
