Book Review: God's Perfect Timing

Hello everyone, welcome to our monthly book review. The review for August is, God’s Perfect Timing by Reverend J. Martin.

Although the description is long, it is so informative, that I will include all of it.

Description

Without question, one of the hardest things to do is wait for god's timing. In this fast-paced world in which we live, things are set up for maximum speed and efficiency.

Technology is now moving faster than ever before. Smartphones are so cutting edge that they allow news events to arrive seconds after they actually occur.

We are so used to everything moving at lightning speed that we have a very hard time adjusting to the slower pace that god likes to work things out.

Dazed and confused, we look for answers in all the wrong places. Our life becomes directed by fear instead of faith. We grow disheartened. Our faith can weaken.

If you watch a seed grow, you will not see much change from one day to the next. Although, without water and care, it will die. Faith is no different.

There are perfect times in your future when your life will blossom. All that god asks is for you to wait for them to be revealed.

Thing is, we do not like to wait. Many times when life is not going as we like, we force things to happen. God's timing is not good enough for us. Pushing life is like digging up a seed to check if it has germinated. This may sound crazy, but this is exactly what people do when they don't wait for god's timing.

We pray. We have faith. But we lack an essential ingredient. Often we need to be reminded of the fruits that come from waiting.

If you learn to wait for god's timing, your life will overflow with grace. Surely that is not for me? Yes, it can be.

During this audiobook, I will share with you what scripture says about waiting for god's timing. Powerful. Stories of those that listened and also those that did not. Enlightening.

My Review

There are many important questions raised in this audiobook, like: Do our prayers go unanswered? Do you have a good attitude while you are waiting for answers to your prayers? Do you trust God enough? Are you working against God?

This audio book came at a time when I almost made a grave decision out of haste the very morning I listened to this book. I had no idea this book would be the book I would review for this month. I had others in mind, and yet, I was led to this book, the same morning I was supposed to write my book review. Talk about God’s perfect timing.

This morning, I almost sent a message to someone I deeply love, based on anger. I had picked up my phone and armed with rational, I was ready to start the message. Then God reminded me that I had recently renewed my will to seek Him first. I put my phone down and prayed. The message was not sent and the person I loved deeply called me about an hour later, with a voice full of love for me. After my conversation with them, I imagined the hurt I would have caused if I had written and sent my intended message. I imagined that the phone call I received would not have taken place, because that person would have read my message and been hurt. The damage would have been done - words hurt and can’t be taken back.

This audio book contains many wonderful Bible promises, to encourage and heal us while we wait for our prayers to be answered.

Matthew 21:22 - And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.

1 John 5:15 - And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

Habakkuk 2:3 - For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

2 Peter 3:8 - But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psalm 27: 14 - Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

Psalm 37:4 - Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

An excellent story is told before the verse from Isaiah 40:31 is referenced. It led me to ask myself: Would I have waited?

This audio book is full of encouraging words, based on scripture. Belief, faith, patience, love, God’s goodness, trusting in the LORD, relying on the LORD - this book includes all of the things we need to hear about and read in scripture, to help us on the long haul of a journey we have on this Earth, all under the grace of God - certainly not by our own doing.

One of my favourite scriptures referenced in this audio book is from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. I look at these verses in a new light, thanks to this audio book. I realized that God’s grace covers whichever side of each equation you are on, for His way is perfect. So the most important thing is to pray and wait for the LORD, before we act. Amen!

This audio book was less than half an hour, yet, I could reflect upon it’s content all day.
