I have split my review into two parts because this book is so extensive. It’s an upgrade from, The Maker’s Diet. In my experience, it’s a lot more practical, since it focuses more on the foods and less on the past health challenges of the authors.

One of my favourite Bible verses is referenced at the beginning of the book.

1 Corinthians 10:31 - Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

The first eight chapters of this book has easy to understand and in-depth information on good and bad foods. This covers all food groups and as a non-meat eater, I am encouraged to see if I can at least incorporate broth from chicken, lamb and beef into my diet, in the near future.

There is well researched information on the health risks of modern food and although I rarely eat french fries, some facts in this book have convinced me that I, by God’s grace, will never eat french fries outside of my home again.

I have read a number of books on nutrition over the years and would consider my diet generally healthy, however, this book has challenged me to up my game to a Bible-based diet for all food groups. In addition to this, this book pretty much condenses all of the nutrition books I own! It’s a one stop nutrition guide, based on the best book in the history of mankind - the Bible.

One thing that puzzled me and will require more research on my part, is the mention of eating animal fat, such as beef tallow and organs, such as kidneys. Other than that, there are excellent tips and just a wealth of information to align our diets with the way God intended.

I will return with part two next month and will also have a testimony on how my 40-day Maker’s Diet went, so stay tuned.

Thank you for reading this review. Until next time, God’s peace be with you.
