Welcome to our monthly book review for, The Twelve- A Transformational Journey Through The Minor Prophets, by Parker Bradley. Drawing from the insights of the Minor Prophets in the Bible, The Twelve, is an encouraging, but also challenging resource for followers of Jesus, and anyone wanting to honestly understand how God reveals Himself in Scripture.

We covered the chapter on Zechariah last month, and are covering the minor prophet, Malachi, in this episode.

Malachi is only four chapters and yet this chapter had a huge impact on me - more than any of the other minor prophet books. I can’t explain why - but I know that it made me think of several verses:

2 Corinthians 10:5 - which speaks of bringing every thought into the obedience of Christ

Psalm 25 - a request asking the Lord to show us His ways

2 Thessalonians 3:22-23 - which speaks of God’s mercy and faithfulness

Parker Bradley breaks down and reflects on Malachi in such a way, it made my heart ache and yearn to hold faithful to the Lord, in my fragility and unfaithfulness, even when I don’t think I am beng unfaithful. There is so much depth to this chapter, coming to the focus from different angles - but it all points back to our relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, His appointed Son and Saviour of the world. In addition to this, how we use that relationship to serve the Lord in helping others to come to God, through Jesus.

The word “powerful” does not do the message Malachi brought justice. I was left in awe. The Bible truly is a living book, as I have read Malachi before, but this time around, listening to Parker Bradley’s reflection on the message, I was touched in a different way.

The Twelve has been wonderful to listen to. Our next podcast review will be a summary of the whole journey through The Twelve.

I listened to, The Twelve, on Audible.

Thank you for reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
