If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath full of the knowledge that God is for you, not against you.
This week’s review is for a short Christian film called, Don’t Try - Let Go, by Joshua Buraimoh.
Description
This short film shows the daily life of a man’s walk with Christ, who is relying on his own power, rather than that from God to continue His walk as a disciple of Jesus Christ. We see the consequences of relying on his own strength and the answer he is given, through prayer.
The film shows that the Word of God is our ultimate guide in this world, in every situation. One of the verses shown is from Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Others, such as 1 Peter 5:8, warn us about the schemes of Satan and how we can drift off and follow distraction. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
There are scripture verses for being diligent about prayer under distress (Luke 18:1), and how we are to rely on God to do His will (Philippians 2:13). There are many other verses referenced in just the three or so minutes this film runs. One of them is scripture I happen to be learning by heart this week - Jeremiah 29:11-14
For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the LORD
Thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope
And you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me and I will listen to you
And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
I will be found by you, says the LORD.
The promise God tells us in His message to Jeremiah, is the foundation of this film and carries us, disciples of Jesus Christ, through our lives, while waiting for our Saviour’s return. Praise the LORD.
I watched, Don’t Try - Let Go, on Joshua’s YouTube channel.
Thank you for reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
