This week’s review is for the film, Reunion

Description

Reunion is an engaging personal story of loss and redemption told by the people who lived it. When Kim was a high school senior, she became pregnant by her boyfriend, Duane. While the couple would one day marry, they were not ready for that commitment at the time, nor were they ready to take up the responsibility of raising a child. So, they made the heart wrenching decision to place their daughter for adoption. Twenty-five years later, Kim and Duane reunited with their daughter, SaraAnn. Experience the emotional roller coaster that finally resulted in the reunion of parents and child, and witness the loving connection between SaraAnn’s biological and adopted families.

This is a powerful story of the power of God’s grace. It is unimaginable to go through such a process, with the results these families experienced, based on human strength. Zechariah 4:6 says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.

It is very clear that faith and a growing relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, was instrumental for Kim and Duane, SaraAnn’s biological parents and for SaraAnn herself. I was really inspired when SaraAnn said that it was God’s plan for her, so that made it ok. It was also very inspirational to hear Kim say that she was thankful for the life SaraAnn had with her adoptive parents that she would not have been able to give her and SaraAnn’s sister saying it made her part of the beautiful person she is. Praise the Lord for His power through grace, because as I watched this beautiful film, I couldn’t imagine the pain Kim and Duane went through for twenty five years.

There are so many key moments in this film, for example, how SaraAnn describes growing up without much longing for her biological parents, but experiencing that when contact was made and how God helped her process those overwhelming feelings. It’s like God kept those strong feelings, from that void, in check until the right time. God is truly amazing! There is so much to unpack in this film - words cannot describe. I was just left glorifying the Lord and I am sure you will too!

I watched Reunion on Vision Video Youtube website.

Thank you for reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
