Program Review: Awesome Science Media - The Phases of the Moon

This week’s review is for the program, “Phases of the Moon,” which is produced by Awesome Sci TV, a division of Awesome Science Media, a world leader in producing science-focused media with a Biblical worldview. Awesome Science Media, or ASM, was started by Kyle Justice in 2010. The 12 part series, The Heavens Declare, that I finished reviewing last Sabbath, was produced under the umbrella of Awesome Science Media.

I enjoyed The Heavens Declare so much, that I looked up Awesome Science Media’s website and was very pleased to see the vast amount of science programs they have. The secular world wants us to view science as a complicated, and cold subject, that has little to do with our everyday thinking. However, as Psalms 19 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God,” and as God made everything, then science is about exploring what our Creator has made, for His glory.

Although I did well in Biology and Chemistry, I actually failed Physics in high school - and couldn’t figure out why. Sure, the teacher’s method of teaching was very questionable, but even then, I loved the sciences, but just couldn’t get Physics. I wasn’t a Christian back then and now, watching science programs or reading science books is a whole different experience, because I have a biblical view of the world.

The moon is fascinating, so when I came across this short but very informative episode about the phases of the moon, it went right on my mental list of programs to review.

This is directed at a younger audience, but as I am young at heart, it appealed to me too - except the very last part, with the mouthful of oreos - the mum in me just couldn’t get past that one.

Phases of the Moon is a short, informative and well made program. It’s a great follow-up to what I have seen on, The Heavens Declare series - science giving glory to its rightful Creator - the God of Israel.
