Review: Discovering the Bible (Survival, Spread and Influence- Episode 4)

Hello everyone, if you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the promise that God can be your lamp, and the LORD that turns your darkness into light.

This week’s review is for the program: Discovering the Bible - Episode 4: Survival, Spread and Influence.

Description

Despite attempts of tyrants to destroy it, the Bible has endured and become the most translated and circulated book ever. It was translated into various art forms and given to us in English through heroic efforts. It’s the book that influenced the lives that influenced the world.

My Review

This episode starts with a comforting verse from the Bible, that was spoken by Jesus: Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. (Gospel of Matthew 14:35)

This same statement was also recorded in the gospels of Mark 13:31 and Luke 21:33.

The episode also referenced another statement from Jesus: And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

This sets the tone for the extraordinary ways, God has preserved His Word - what we known as the Bible.

This episode named a few Christians who God has used to preserve His word: John Wycliffe, Martin Luther, William Tyndale, Mary Jones John Wesley. There are also artists, scientists and composers mentioned.

Jesus tells us through the the Bible, that His Word will not be destroyed. Episode four, shows us, through glimpses of history, some of the ways it has been done. I am humbled and honoured that my ministry, Renewed Faith Media is part of this process. Praise the LORD! As is redeemtv.com, which is where I watched, Discovering the Bible.

Thank you for reading this review. Until next time, God’s peace be with you.
