Hello everyone, if you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath, filled with the Word of God.

This week’s review is for the program: The Incredible Journey - How the Bible Came to Be.

Description

A carefully documented presentation of the origins of Scripture beautifully photographed in the Holy Land.

My Review

I like how the Bible is described as the most unique world history book and the greatest book in mankind’s history.

This program goes through history and scripture to explain how the Bible came to be, but I found myself wondering why they hadn’t included 2 Timothy 3:16-17: All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. Scripture tells us that the Bible is divinely inspired, not just a book of meticulous notes kept by mankind.

This program reminds us of the accuracy of prophecy, who Jesus is and the message of the gospel.

John 20:31 says, “ but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”

It’s amazing to see how the Word of God has been preserved through time, even though people have tried, throughout earth’s history, to destroy it. But scripture assures us that the Word of God endures forever (1 Peter 1:25).

This program offers us a solid background of historic events that show how God uses His people, throughout time, to preserve His Word. As I look across at my Bible, I am humbled to have such a powerful source of information in my possession. Thanks be to God!
