Review: Jesus the Game Changer (Episode - Care)

Hello everyone, if you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the assurance that God will answer when you call to Him.

This week’s review is for the series, Jesus, the Game Changer This episode is called, Care.

Jesus, the Game Changer is a 10 part documentary series (with 4 bonus episodes) on how the life and teaching of Jesus changed the world and why it matters. The presenter, travels to the US, UK, Australia, Singapore and India interviewing over 30 authors, speakers and modern-day game changers. This series covers topics like equality, forgiveness, leadership, women and children, care and more.

I enjoyed the last series, Towards Belief, so much that I looked up the ministry, Olive Tree Media, and subscribed to their content channel. That’s where I found this 10 part series, Jesus, the Game Changer.

Description

Though Jesus interacted with everyone, more than anyone else, Jesus ministered among the poor and marginalised and He taught His followers to do likewise. Christians’ willingness to obey Jesus has profoundly shaped our world.

This episode reminds us of a basic element in life, the world often forgets or denies. Every single person on earth was born carrying the image of God. So every single life is sacred.

One of Christianity’s pillars is the moral and religious duty to take care of people.

This episode has many conversations about the teachings and practice of Jesus for caring for the needy. We are given the example of Jarius’ daughter and the woman with a bleeding issue, recorded in the gospels (Matthew 9:18-26, Mark 5:21-43 and Luke 8:41-56).

There is also a powerful testimony from someone who has been in other episodes, regarding how God saved his life and called him to help those in need. This testimony reminds me of several Bible verses:

Jeremiah 33:3 - Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

Psalm 143:8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.

This episode is inspiring, humbling and touching - witnessing that Jesus shows us the loving character of God.

I will leave you with a sentence the powerful witness in this episode said: If you are breathing, you can be a game changer!
