Hello everyone, if you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the hope that Jesus, the King of kings, will soon return to reign in God’s perfect kingdom.

This week’s review is for the series, Jesus, the Game Changer. This episode is called, Democracy.

Jesus, the Game Changer is a 10 part documentary series (with 4 bonus episodes) on how the life and teaching of Jesus changed the world and why it matters. The presenter, travels to the US, UK, Australia, Singapore and India interviewing over 30 authors, speakers and modern-day game changers. This series covers topics like equality, forgiveness, leadership, women and children, care and more.

I enjoyed the series, Towards Belief, so much that I looked up the ministry, Olive Tree Media, and subscribed to their content channel. That’s where I found this 10 part series, Jesus, the Game Changer.

Description

Jesus is not often associated with having anything to say about democracy. Jesus did, however, teach about freedom, and many of His teachings had political implications that have been developed by Christians over the last 2000 years.

This episode reminded me of that acronym - WWJD: What Would Jesus Do?

While Jesus never mentions the word democracy, His character and teachings show that only He can combine church and state and rule in a perfect manner.

This episode discusses, for the most part, how our world struggles to lead countries in the way they should be governed and why that is. There are several good discussions about the separation of church and state, faith based hospitals and their relationships to their governments and a Christian in the Second World War that kept his faith through the most trying circumstances.

This episode is a great reminder of how leaders fall short, due to their sinful natures, but a faith-based leadership, with its eyes fixed on Jesus, will prosper, by the grace of God.
