If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the love of God.
This week’s review is for the documentary, Luther, The Life and Legacy of the German Reformer,
This documentary shows the events God used in Martin Luther’s life that led him to rediscover the gospel of justification by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
I like how this documentary had a balanced account of the problems Luther highlighted that were going on in the church and the problems Luther himself faced, as a person, which affected how people saw him later on in life.
There are a lot of documentaries about Martin Luther and I will no doubt watch more of them, however, this documentary seems to give good detail about the pitfalls of the church leading up to and in Luther’s time, along with the journey of Luther’s faith.
Some of the hymns Luther wrote, were mentioned, which made me think of Psalm 46 and how it too speaks of God being our fortress through all challenges.
What Luther experienced goes on and the question still remains for all: Do we conform to the world or to the word of God?
I watched, Luther, The Life and Legacy of the German Reformer, on Ligonier Ministries YouTube channel.
Thank you for reading this review. Until next time - peace be with you.
