Review: Towards Belief (Exclusive Faith)

Hello everyone, if you are reading to this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the conviction of Jesus’ words in John 14:6 - I am the way, the truth and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.

This week’s review is for the series, Towards Belief. This episode is called, Exclusive Faith.

Towards Belief is a 10 episode series addressing the top belief blockers of our time – the most frequently cited reasons that many have lost confidence in the Church and its message.

This episode, like the previous one, has many questions and reflections. The main question being: How do I know my faith is the correct path? One of the guest speakers had some really good answers to the illustrations used by some people to discredit exclusive faith, like Christianity.

I was baptised in 2017 and used some verses from Ephesians (amongst others) on the invitation I made to invite friends and acquaintances to witness my baptism. One acquaintance read the verses from Ephesians, shook their head and declined the invitation. This person said they were a Christian, yet subscribed to the belief that every religion was correct and there were many paths that led to God. So what verses did they find offensive? Ephesians 4:4-6

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

This episode does an excellent job in questioning statements like: everyone can be right. Or, all paths lead to the same God, etc. This episode addresses that we live in a world that challenges the very concept of truth. It’s an excellent episode and a must see.
