Hello everyone, if you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the knowledge of the true character of God.
This week’s review is for the series, Towards Belief. This episode is called, Religious Violence.
Towards Belief is a 10 episode series addressing the top belief blockers of our time – the most frequently cited reasons that many have lost confidence in the Church and its message.
There were many questions and reflections in this episode, one of them being, Does religion create war?
I appreciate the focus of some people in this episode on the character of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Without knowledge of these, through the Bible, we would be answering that questions based on our own flawed wisdom.
Some Bible verses that come to my mind are Deuteronomy 32:4 and 1 Corinthians 13:1-13.
I have some questions of my own. As we are in a fierce spiritual war, who, more than anything, wants the character of God to be misunderstood? Correct, Satan. On the other hand, who showed us the true character of God? Correct, Jesus Christ.
I will leave you with the wonderful verse from John 3:16-17: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
