Hello everyone, if you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with the confidence that you are part of the household of heaven, and can call God, Abba! Father!

This week’s review is for the short drama, Zacchaeus

Description

You've probably heard the rumors about him. He's a traitor... a thief. Nobody likes the guy that takes their money. People avoid him on the street, and call him names under their breath. Even though he lives in one of the biggest houses in the city, it’s almost always empty. Until one day, Jesus invited himself over.

And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:9-10

My Review

This dramatization is from the same series as last week’s review about the short drama, Saul. Zacchaeus only last eight minutes, yet touches on some very important points about Jesus’ ministry. It clears up any confusion why Jesus chose to be in the company of sinners. Jesus was perfect, sinners are not. Jesus’ mission was clear. He came to save us from sin - not to live in sin with us.

In the KJV (King James Version) translation of the Bible, the heading in Luke 19 is, “The Conversion of Zacchaeus”. This short drama uses imagination to show what Zacchaeus thoughts might have been before and after his encounter with Jesus.

The drama was well done and inspired me to write down this question: What do we expect from Jesus, and I would add, “and does our expectation line up with the Bible?”

I watched, Zacchaeus, via redeemtv.com.

Thank you for reading this review. Until next time, God’s peace be with you.
