Hello everyone, if you are reading to this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with Christ’s power to resist the temptations the world places in your path.
This week’s review is for the series, Fragrance of Faith, episode, Holy Ground.
Description
Discover enterprising people in the most influential spheres of modern society: arts, entertainment and business. From New York to Paris, we visit exclusive places that challenge our view of the Holy Ground.
This episode reminds me of the verses from Psalm 139:8-12
Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9 If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,”
12 even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is bright as the day,
for darkness is as light with you.
We see and hear testimonies from people in industries that are considered dark in nature - fashion, entertainment and businesses that typically have their focus on monetary gain.
One person interviewed, said he felt that God had brought him into real estate to improve the economy of others. I don’t think I have ever heard a real estate professional say that!
This episode allows us to hear the testimonies are Christians that are submerged in industries that are superficial and full of temptations like greed, lust and pride. Yet these people have testimonies that show God cares for each and every one of His creation and has His people everywhere.
An artist had a powerful testimony of how God works through her to give hope and peace to people.
A director interviewed, referenced Philippians 4:8 as his daily prayer:
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
The same director had a powerful testimony about the things he could accomplish for families, through the power of Christ, in him.
The three temptations mentioned in this episode: greed, lust and pride, are the very same things that Satan used to deceive Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden. God had given Adam and Eve an entire garden and banned them from just one tree. Yet the temptation of greed encouraged them to want more than the abundance God had given them. Then they lusted after the fruit on the tree that they were forbidden to touch and finally, pride made them hide from God when He went looking for them, in the Garden of Eden. Absence of repentance was also due to pride.
This episode offers hope. Someone said, God does not put us to shame. Romans 5:5 says, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
This episode is a testimony that God has placed us in all kinds of places. If we place our trust in Him, then He gives us all we need to conquer each and every temptation laid before us, so that we can do what He has called us to do, for His glory. Praise the LORD!
