If you are reading this review on the Sabbath, then I would like to wish you a Sabbath filled with assurance that Jesus can take each and every burden you have.

This week’s review is for the short film, Lost and Found by Trent Barfield.

Description

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

This short film has several messages about the Christian life and how God gives us the grace to stand in Christ, until He returns.

The film shows how Satan can use our hurt to tempt us and draw us away from Jesus, but as Jesus has already conquered the devil, we have victory over our trials, through Christ. That is, if we turn to Him, each and every time.

The Christian life is hard. You won’t find any examples in the Bible that indicate otherwise. As Jesus was rejected in this world, so are we. We are called not to conform to this world, nor to rely on ourselves, but on the power of Christ, by the grace of God. Sometimes we lose our focus and the trials we are going through can overwhelm us, but God always finds a way to remind us who we are and how much He loves us, even when we don’t feel Him near.

It was wonderful to see that the main character had a Christian friend, who relied on his Bible and held his friend accountable, according to the word of God, as opposed to the main character’s work colleague, who wanted to lead him into sin, through relying on alcohol to drown his sorrows. This reminds me of Psalm 1:1-2

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked

or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,

2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

Lost and Found is a thought-provoking short film that lifts up the assurance we have in the promises in the Bible, the Word of God.

Thank you for reading this review. Until next time, peace be with you.
